These coins were issued during the transitional period when the United States gradually moved away from circulating silver coinage, resulting in a reduced silver composition of 40%. Obverse: Portrait of President John F. Kennedy facing left. Inscription: "LIBERTY" and: "IN GOD WE TRUST" Translation: "In God We Trust".
