USA - 1901-O Morgan $1 - New Orleans Mint - .900 Silver, 25.20 g (22.68 g Net Silver, 0.7292 Troy Oz.) - Heavily Worn - KM#110 United States Morgan silver dollar dated 1901, designed by George T. Morgan. The "O" mintmark visible on the reverse identifies the coin as an issue of the New Orleans Mint. Struck in .900 silver and presently weighing 25.20 g (22.68 g net silver based on the actual weight, 0.7292 troy oz.). The coin exhibits substantial circulation wear consistent with its reduced weight compared with the original mint specification, with considerable loss of detail on both sides. Obverse: Liberty facing left, wearing a Phrygian cap and wreath. The inscription "LIBERTY", portions of "E PLURIBUS UNUM" ("Out of Many - One"), stars, and the date 1901 remain visible. Reverse: American eagle with outstretched wings, holding an olive branch and arrows and surrounded by a wreath. The inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", "IN GOD WE TRUST", and "ONE DOLLAR" remain partially visible despite the wear. The "O" mintmark of the New Orleans Mint appears below the wreath. Technical data: Denomination $1, .900 silver, actual weight 25.20 g, containing 22.68 g net silver based on the actual weight (0.7292 troy oz.). Heavily circulated with substantial wear. KM#110.
