United States - 20 Dollars 1934A - Federal Reserve Note - Pick# 429b American banknote from the Federal Reserve Note series issued in 1934A, during the years following the Great Depression and amid major monetary reforms in the United States. Notes of this series formed an essential part of the modern American banking system and were issued by the Federal Reserve System. The note features a portrait of Andrew Jackson - the seventh President of the United States, who served from 1829 to 1837 and is considered one of the most influential political figures in 19th century America. Face: Central portrait of Andrew Jackson alongside the black Federal Reserve seal and green serial numbers, classic characteristics of Federal Reserve Notes. The district letter “B” indicates issuance by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Back: Engraving of The White House in Washington, D.C., presented in the classic green reverse style typical of American currency of the era. The 1934A series was issued during the post-gold standard period in the United States and reflects the transition toward a modern monetary system controlled by the Federal Reserve and the U.S. Government.
