Palestine / Israel - Means of Payment - 7 Barclays Bank (Dominion, Colonial and Overseas) Cheques - Jerusalem Branch - Still Attached Together - Consecutive Numbers A group of 7 original cheques issued by Barclays Bank (Dominion, Colonial and Overseas), Jerusalem Branch, from the British Mandate period in Palestine. All seven cheques remain attached together in their original booklet format and bear consecutive numbers. The cheques are printed with the bank's name, "BARCLAYS BANK (DOMINION, COLONIAL AND OVERSEAS), " together with "JERUSALEM (PALESTINE)" and "JERUSALEM." They contain spaces for the date, payee and amount, with the currency designated as £P - Palestine Pounds. The visible cheque bears No. H8/551549. A purple "Kupat Ash, S.B. Poland" stamp is also visible at the top, indicating a period institutional association or use. The survival of all 7 cheques still attached together and in consecutive numerical order preserves their original booklet arrangement and is an important characteristic of the group.
