Palestine / Early Israel - Pair of Bezalel Bronze Medals: “Maimonides” & “Haim Nahman Bialik” 1934, 1935 - Design by Moshe Morro, Jerusalem A pair of bronze medals (some silvered), produced by Bezalel, Jerusalem, and designed by artist Moshe Morro (Moreau) during the late Bezalel period (circa 1930s). The medals feature finely detailed portraits of two great figures of Jewish heritage: Moses Maimonides (the Rambam), inscribed “התרצ״ה תתקס״ח” (1188–1935), rendered in Hebrew chronology. Haim Nahman Bialik, inscribed “תרל״ג–תרצ״ד” (1873–1934). The reverse of each medal bears the inscription “Bezalel Jerusalem”, indicating official production by the Bezalel School of Arts and Crafts. Their design reflects the late Bezalel aesthetic - realistic portraiture, Hebrew script, and national symbolism.
