Palestine - 100 Mils 1931 - KM# 7 - NGC MS 62 - Very Rare A 1931 Palestine 100 Mils coin, certified by NGC as MS 62. This is considered the most difficult of the 59 British Mandate Palestine coin issues to obtain in Mint State. Examples in this condition appear at auction only rarely, making it a particularly scarce and desirable coin. The mil was the commonly used Hebrew name for the coinage unit that served as legal tender in Palestine during the British Mandate. It later became the official name of the coinage unit in the State of Israel until 1952. Obverse: At the center appears an olive branch with seven leaves. At the base of the branch, the year 1931 appears in Western numerals on the left and Arabic numerals on the right. Around the rim appears the name “PALESTINE” in English, Hebrew and Arabic. Reverse: At the center is a circle containing the denomination “100”, shown in Western numerals above and Arabic numerals below. Around the circle appears the denomination “One Hundred Mils” in Hebrew, English and Arabic.
