Palestine - 10 Pounds 1939 - PMG 58 - Only 2 Banknotes are graded above this grade - Prefix B An amazing quality item that is exceptionally well preserved, with the exception of 2 notes which are graded 64 this is the highest quality note for this year. An item that is very difficult to obtain in quality, certainly it is such a high quality. For the most part, these high value banknotes have not been preserved in quality due to their high value and the fact that quite a few banknotes can be found in used conditions. In addition, during this period, on the eve of the beginning of the Second World War, in the Land of Israel they did not think of keeping banknotes for collection... In 1917, the British conquered Israel from the Ottomans and British military rule in Israel began. The Monetary Council money notes were the first notes issued for Israel (formerly Palestine), went into circulation on November 1, 1927, and served as a legal process in both Jordan and the Gaza Strip. The banknote values in the series were 500 Mmiles, 1 , 5 , 10 , 50 and 100 Pounds. The notes were of different colors, and carried paintings of David's Tower, the Dome of the Rock, the White Tower, and Rachel's Tomb. Observe: A Drawing of the White Tower in Ramla city. Reverse: a painting of David's Tower. Watermark: An olive tree branch Signatures: P. EZECHIAL J. CAULCUTT R.V. VERNON Number color: Red Dimensions: 192X103mm KM # 9c
