Netherlands - 2.5 Gulden 1944 - PMG 63 NET - Amersfoort Camp - Low S.N. The Polizeiliches Durchgangslager Amersfoort (PDA) was a transit camp for deployment to Germany. Political opponents of the Nazi regime, but also among others hiding in hiding and black merchants were detained here, awaiting their transport to Germany. Prisoners could buy camp money, with which, at high prices, some food could be bought in the canteen. The camp money consisted of 10 and 25 cents, 1, 2½ and 5 Gulden. The notes of 1 and 2½ Guilders are rare, the 5 guilder banknote is very rare. They are dated January 1, 1944 and are provided with the signature of camp commander Karl Peter Berg. many of these camp notes were destroyed by fire as the Germany tried to destroy evidence of the holocaust, this is a scarce survivor, a rare and interesting piece of WW2 history .
