Judaica / Zionism - Great Britain - 1914 George V Sixpence, with Hebrew "ה' צלח" Countermarks on the King's Portrait, KM# 815 British Sixpence dated 1914, issued during the reign of King George V and subsequently altered through the application of several Hebrew countermarks to the obverse. The countermarks appear across the King's portrait and constitute the principal Judaica aspect of the piece. Reverse: Crowned lion standing above the Royal Crown, with the date 1914 divided to either side. Surrounding legend: "FID: DEF: IND: IMP:" Below: "SIXPENCE" Specifications: .925 sterling silver, gross weight 2.83 g, approximately 2.62 g net silver, equivalent to approximately 0.0841 troy oz. of pure silver.
