Judaica / Zionism - Germany, Antisemitic Medal “A Nazi Travels to Palestine”, 1930s

Judaica / Zionism - Germany, Antisemitic Medal “A Nazi Travels to Palestine”, 1930s A rare antisemitic propaganda medal issued in Nazi Germany during the 1930s, mocking both the Zionist movement and the German Jews seeking to emigrate to Palestine. Obverse: Features a large Star of David surrounded by the legend: “EIN NAZI FÄHRT NACH PALÄSTINA” – “A Nazi travels to Palestine.” The phrase alludes sarcastically to the brief Nazi cooperation with Zionist organizations to encourage Jewish emigration from Germany. Reverse: Displays a swastika above the inscription: “UND ERZÄHLT DAVON IM Angriff” – “And he reports about it in Der Angriff.” This refers to the Nazi newspaper Der Angriff (“The Attack”), founded by Joseph Goebbels, which published a propagandistic article in 1933 about a Nazi “traveler” visiting Palestine.
