Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso, 1930s This is a rare and very well-preserved example of one of the earliest Reverso models, introduced in 1931. The Reverso was originally designed for polo players in British India, who needed a watch durable enough to withstand the rigors of the sport — hence the reversible case, which protects the dial during matches. • Case: Made of Staybrite stainless steel, a high-quality corrosion-resistant alloy popular at the time. It is signed and engraved with the patent number 321780, indicating its early production and original mechanism. • Strap/Buckle: Comes with a signed steel buckle, likely original or period-correct. • Dial: A black dial with luminous Arabic numerals, rare for the time and designed for improved readability. It includes a small seconds sub-dial, adding utility and balance to the design. • Movement: Houses a manual-winding caliber LeCoultre 410, numbered 629267, a reliable and historically significant movement. • Dimensions: A classic rectangular size of 23 x 38 mm, typical of early Reverso models and suited to both vintage aesthetics and modern wearers who appreciate smaller proportions. • Condition: The watch is running, and is currently in the process of being cataloged, likely for auction or archival purposes. No original box or papers are included. This watch is not only a piece of horological history but also a design icon — combining Art Deco elegance with sports functionality.
