Israel - Group of 50 Coins - 10 Pruta 1949 - Without Pearl - KM# 11 A large and high-quality group consisting of 50 examples of the 1949 Israeli 10 Pruta coin, all of the “Without Pearl” type. This type refers to coins where the rounded raised dot beneath the date, at the lower part of the oval on the denomination side, is absent. The vast majority of the coins are in UNC condition, displaying original luster and attractive copper tones. An especially appealing group, suitable for collectors, dealers and research of the early Israeli pruta series. Obverse: Stylized chalice design with the inscription “Israel” in Hebrew and Arabic. Reverse: Denomination “10 Pruta” within a wreath of stylized olive branches. The first Israeli pruta coins were struck in 1949 as part of the first official coinage series issued by the State of Israel after independence.
