Israel - Group of 10 Medals, 25th Anniversary of the State of Israel - 1973 - Silver 935, 470g (approx. 434g pure silver, 14.13 oz), 45 mm An impressive group of 10 official medals issued in 1973 by the Israel Government Coins and Medals Corporation to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the State of Israel. During the first twenty-five years of statehood, Israel’s population increased fivefold, dozens of cities and hundreds of villages were established, agricultural production expanded dramatically, and modern Israeli industry entered international export markets. Alongside this growth, the country faced ongoing security challenges and wars, while maintaining the aspiration for peace as a central national goal. Obverse: The official emblem of Israel’s 25th anniversary celebrations - a menorah combined with a ribbon forming the number 25, bearing the inscription “Israel.” Around the rim appears the English inscription “Israel’s 25th Anniversary.” Reverse: The twelve zodiac signs from the famous mosaic floor discovered in the 6th-century synagogue at Beit Alfa, one of the most important ancient Jewish mosaics found in Israel.
