Israel - 500 Prutah 1952 - Bank Leumi Le-Israel B.M. - KM# 19A - Prefix H - Fine
Israel - 500 Prutah 1952 - Bank Leumi Le-Israel B.M. - KM# 19A - Prefix H - Fine A 500 Prutah banknote issued by Bank Leumi Le-Israel B.M., from the series introduced after the Anglo-Palestine Bank became Bank Leumi Le-Israel in May 1951. The new notes closely followed the design of the Anglo-Palestine Bank series, as they had to be printed quickly and there was not enough time for a full redesign. During this period, the new Israeli currency, the Israeli Lira, was introduced, with the Prutah serving as its subdivision. Obverse: Green security designs, with the inscriptions "בנק לאומי לישראל בע"מ" (Bank Leumi Le-Israel B.M.), "500 פרוטה" (500 Prutah), "חמש מאות פרוטה" (Five Hundred Prutah), and the Hebrew payment clause. Red serial number, prefix H. Signatures: Hoofien - Barth. Reverse: Security designs, with the inscriptions "Bank Leumi Le-Israel B.M.", "Five Hundred Prutah", and "Legal Tender for Payment of Any Amount", together with Arabic inscriptions giving the bank name and denomination. Watermark: None. Serial number color: Red. Dimensions: 148x72 mm. Condition: Fine. The note shows clear signs of circulation, folds, stains, edge wear, and minor paper defects, while the main design details and inscriptions remain clear.
