Israel - 100 Pruta 1954 - Inner Wreath, Magnetic - KM# 19 - PCGS MS 65 According to both PCGS and NGC population data, this is the highest grade awarded to this variety to date. An exceptional quality example, ideal for the collector seeking a top-tier specimen for an advanced collection. A rare variety featuring the wreath positioned away from the rim on the obverse (“Inner Wreath”). This coin had a very limited mintage of approximately 20,000 pieces, most of which were later melted, with only an estimated 1,200 examples surviving today. The Government of Israel requested design proposals for a new coin series from the Israel Numismatic Society. Leo Kadman and Hanan Pavel, together with graphic designer Otto Wallish, submitted the designs, which were approved by then Minister of Finance Eliezer Kaplan. Obverse: Denomination “100 Pruta” and date in Hebrew within a wreath of stylized olive branches. Reverse: Palm tree with the inscription “Israel” in Hebrew and Arabic. The design is based on a Bar Kokhba coin (132-135 CE).
