Israel - 100 Pruta 1954 - Inner Wreath, Magnetic - KM# 19 - NGC MS 63 A rare 100 Pruta coin from the first pruta series of the State of Israel, featuring the “Inner Wreath” variety, where the wreath on the obverse is positioned farther from the rim. The coin was struck at the Bern Mint in Switzerland as part of the 1954 issue. The Government of Israel requested design proposals for the new coin series from the Israel Numismatic Society. Leo Kadman and Hanan Pavel, together with graphic designer Otto Wallish, submitted the approved designs, which were later authorized by then Minister of Finance Eliezer Kaplan. Obverse: Denomination “100 Pruta” and date in Hebrew, surrounded by stylized olive branches. Reverse: Palm tree with the inscription “Israel” in Hebrew and Arabic. The design is based on a Bar Kokhba coin (132-135 CE).
