Great Britain - Collection of 6 Queen Victoria Coins - Florins, Double Florin and Crown - .925 Silver, Total Weight 90.80 g (83.99 g Net Silver, 2.70 Troy Ounces) A collection of six British silver coins issued during the reign of Queen Victoria (1837-1901). The group comprises four Florins, one Double Florin, and one Crown, representing several portrait types and reverse designs used throughout Victoria's reign. The collection includes Florins featuring the Gothic portrait and the Jubilee Head portrait, together with a Double Florin and a Crown, illustrating the evolution of British silver coinage during the second half of the nineteenth century. Florins (4 Pieces) Obverse: Various left-facing portraits of Queen Victoria are depicted, including the Gothic Type and the Jubilee Head portrait, depending on the individual coin. Latin legends bearing the Queen's name and titles surround the portrait. Reverse: Most of the Florins feature four crowned shields of England, Scotland, and Ireland arranged in a cruciform design with national emblems in the angles. Some pieces also display the date and the inscription ONE FLORIN around the design. Double Florin Obverse: The Jubilee Head portrait of Queen Victoria facing left, designed by Leonard Charles Wyon, with the surrounding royal legend. Reverse: Four crowned shields arranged around the central Star of the Order of the Garter, with sceptres and national emblems between them. The date appears above the design. Crown Obverse: The Jubilee Head portrait of Queen Victoria facing left with the surrounding royal legend. Reverse: Saint George on horseback slaying the dragon, based on the celebrated design by Benedetto Pistrucci. The date appears below. All six coins are struck in .925 silver. The total weight of the group is 90.80 grams, containing approximately 83.99 grams of net silver, equivalent to approximately 2.70 troy ounces. The condition of the coins is as shown in the photographs. The pieces exhibit circulation wear, surface marks, toning, and other signs of age consistent with prolonged circulation.
